Exercising is indeed a battlefield of the mind…but I am here to help you fight! Fitness training is proven to prevent disease, improve your health, improve your confidence and overall outlook on life. I am no expert with stellar credentials and I am young, but one thing I have noticed growing up, is that the fitness industry is constantly getting new trends and there is always new knowledge to be learned. I will make it my mission to keep expanding my knowledge and look at different training methods to find what will help you reach your goals. I chose to become a personal trainer because I believe that I can help someone become the best version of themselves.
I fell in love with sports when I was old enough to get into them. Instantly I was emerged into a competitive lifestyle that would stick with me. For 14 years I knew nothing but school sports, competitive sports, and summer ball. It was a full time job. My senior year I experienced an injury in my knee that set me back physically and mentally. I had surgery and had to begin rehabilitation, it took me about 4 months to fully recover. By the time I was cleared to be active again I had lost all muscle mass and gained 25 pounds. I was extremely discouraged about my body and was skeptical about setting foot in a gym. I was not sure If I could ever get back to how I was before. Going from being an athlete my entire life to not knowing what I was capable of doing really took a toll on me mentally.
I started working at a gym shortly after I was fully recovered and realized that I was unhappy because I was no longer taking care of myself and saw all of these happy and healthy people around me. I suddenly remembered that that was what I loved so much about being active. I started getting online and looking up workouts for ACL injuries and slowly got back into the groove. For the first couple months I was not steadily exercising but I soon realized that the way I felt after working out was substantially better than the way I felt when I decided to not go. In the first few months of helping myself get better, I started thinking of how many others probably lost their way because of an injury or some other life changing instance. I want to help these people that got lost in a mentality telling them that nothing would change and they are not strong enough to start. I want to show people that it can be hard to begin this journey to a better you, but the end result is epic! That is why exercise is a battlefield of the mind. Once you conquer your mind, you can accomplish anything!
